Mold Maker:

Must be able to inspect products and select the correct shop equipment, precision measurement devices and other tools needed for a job. You should be able to identify problems during a task and create solutions. Must have active learning, judgment, time management and organization skills, strong manual dexterity, wrist-finger speed and arm-hand steadiness. Be exact and able to read and interpret blueprints. Strong math and communication skills in addition to being able to multitask and work with minimal supervision.

CNC Machinist:

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you can get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

 

Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment to a like new appearance according to maintenance plans and established procedures:

 

  • PowerMill software, NC Programming, tool path development

  • Best practices machining, i.e. cutting strategy, stock model usage

  • Speeds and Feeds

  • Cutter knowledge, utilize resharps

  • Controller knowledge

  • G-Codes

  • Tolerance, job set up, color codes

  • Mold fit and function

  • Machine maintenance:  oil, filters, maintenance log

  • Work area clean

  • Machine hour entry per component

  • Task List

  • Familiarity with Handbook and Quality Procedures

 

 

 

Mold Designer

Reads, interprets data and questions any errors. Analyzes complete function of the mold design.

Operates CAD software used in designing and drafting. Creates precise and accurate data to give other departments the best opportunity to utilize that data.

Prerequisites:

 

Mold Designer skills:

  • Creation of sketches and drafts 

  • Release procedures, color-coding

  • Mold design experience

  • Product design experience

  • File management/PC knowledge

 

NX Software

  • Unigraphics Injection Mold Designer

  • Basic understanding of parametrics, history and assemblies creation

  • Knowledge of run-off, tooling action and mold construction, die draw and draft

  • Knowledge of part manipulation relative to tool construction, orientation, construct run-off, able to efficiently incorporate changes 

  • Tolerancing fit and function

 

CAD Data Management

  • Data receipt and logging procedures

  • File Structure and naming conventions

  • FTP Site

  • Customer and Supplier communication

  • CAD Data release to supplier procedures
